What We Do
Itineris provides person centered programs focused on helping individuals develop the skills needed to obtain a meaningful job in a field they enjoy. We focus on Pointe Based Learning and Community Based Learning and programming that utilizes the Itineris Adult Autism Career and Life Skills Curriculum. Our adults participate in Work Awareness and Job Readiness classes, social skills, community integration, decision-making and self-advocacy, technology, Independent Daily Living Skills, Functional Academics and Fitness and Wellness classes. Staff are trained in autism, ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis), TEACHH (Treatment and Education of Autistic and Related Communication-Handicapped Children) and a variety of other strategies to best support our adults. Additionally, staff provides individualized and goal oriented support.
Customized Employment
Customized Employment creates mutually beneficial relationships between employers and employees by matching an individual’s unique skills to the needs of the employer. We build personal relationships, one employer at a time. Our innovative approach encourages working interviews or trial shifts to highlight an individual’s strengths and demonstrate the ability to get the job done.
Community Based Learning
Each client has the opportunity throughout the week to enjoy functional community based activities to practice the skills necessary for an independent and successful life. In the community, our adults practice functional living skills, social and communication skills, gain an awareness of their surroundings, participate in yoga and fitness classes, and expand their repertoire of activities.
Pre-ETS
The Itineris Pre-ETS program is designed to prepare high school students for their entrance into the workforce. We use a proprietary curriculum designed for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Areas of focus include career planning, soft skills training, and rights under ADA. Any inquiries should be directed to Katie Vester, Director of Employment, at kvester@itinerisbaltimore.org
Behavioral Services
Itineris has behavioral services overseen by the Director of Clinical Services and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Itineris ensures that staff are well trained in behavior management systems with an emphasis on consistency and positive behavioral supports. Itineris ensures staff competency and client success by remaining current on best practices and conducting regular trainings and careful supervision.
